USD 417 has named Samantha Davis, Council Grove Junior/Senior High School English teacher, as the district’s Kansas Master Teacher for 2026-2027.
The Kansas Master Teacher program is supported through Emporia State University and the local USD 417 Teachers Association. To be eligible for nomination, candidates must be active or retired teachers who hold a Kansas teaching license and have at least seven years of teaching experience in a Kansas PK12 school.
Davis was recognized for her work as an English teacher at CGJSHS. Her selection as the USD 417 Kansas Master Teacher honors her service to students and the teaching profession.
