UNBOUND Gravel riders will travel through Council Grove on Saturday, May 30, with the first riders expected to arrive around 10 or 10:30 a.m., according to the Council Grove Police Department.

This year, only the 200-mile race will come through Council Grove, bringing approximately 1,400 riders into the community.

Riders are expected to enter Council Grove from Lake Road onto Mission Street. At Mission and Main streets, they will cross Main Street and turn east onto Hockaday Street. They will then cross Neosho Street at Hockaday Street before turning south on Wood Street.

The police department said additional traffic and congestion should be expected from the time the first riders arrive until late Saturday night. Motorists, residents and spectators are asked to use patience and treat one another with respect as the event moves through town.

The department also thanked UNBOUND Gravel event coordinators for being open to constructive discussion and making a route adjustment intended to improve safety for riders, motorists and the community.

The Council Grove Police Department encouraged the public to be aware of the route and traffic impacts Saturday as riders pass through.
