Local youth athletes from the 9–10 age division turned in strong performances at the 2026 Sunflower State Games Track and Field Meet, held Saturday at Hummer Sports Park in Topeka.
Elijah Cosgrove captured first place in the 3000m run with a time of 14:07.35 and added a third-place finish in the 800m run in 3:13.51.
Brody Jarvis earned first place in both the 400m dash (1:15.13) and the 100m dash (15.38). He also placed second in the 200m with a time of 32.80 and finished third in the long jump with a leap of 11-00.75.
Rudson Villalobos won the 80m hurdles in 17.93 and placed third in the 100m with a time of 16.00. Cosgrove, Jarvis and Villalobos also teamed up with Jayell Brown of Wichita to compete in the fun
18-and-Under 4x100 relay.
