The Americus Lodge recognized five boys Saturday for their actions following a crash and fire that occurred during the spring near Northern Heights.
The recognition event was held Saturday, June 20, at the Americus Lodge Hall. Gary Rowley said the lodge presented certificates of appreciation to the five boys who helped pull people from vehicles and assisted at the scene after a fire and wreck east of Northern Heights High School.
Rowley said the boys had already been recognized by the Allen Fire Department, but lodge members also wanted to show their appreciation.
The certificates and cash awards were presented in appreciation for the work the boys did that day. Ten pizzas were donated for the event by Harry & Lloyd’s.
