Country-rock artist Austin Snell will headline the 2026 Washunga Days concert Saturday, June 20, at the Neosho River Amphitheater in Council Grove.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with The Highway, followed by Giovannie and the Hired Guns. Snell will cap the concert as the final act. A $25 wristband provides admission to all three performances.

A Georgia native and U.S. Air Force veteran, Snell combines country songwriting with influences from hard rock and grunge. Raised on music ranging from Alan Jackson to Nirvana and Nickelback, he describes his sound as “grunge country.” Snell built an audience through social media and songs including “Excuse the Mess” and “Pray All the Way Home.” His music has generated more than 383 million career streams worldwide.

His 2024 debut album, “Still Bleeding,” was followed by the seven- track EP “Home Sweet Hell.”

The project examines Snell’s upbringing, family history, relationships and the contrast between outward appearances and private struggles.

The title track was inspired by Snell’s return to his small hometown in South Georgia. While showing his girlfriend his childhood home, she described the house as beautiful. Snell said the comment reminded him that appearances do not always reveal what happened inside a home.

Other songs on the EP include “I Mean It,” “Miles,” “Heavy Metal,” “Drunk,” “Family Tree” and “Stuck in the Sticks.” The collection blends country instrumentation and personal songwriting with distorted guitars and hard-rock elements.

Snell has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and festivals including CMA Fest, Stagecoach and Summerfest. His Washunga Days appearance will bring his country and rock-influenced sound to the Neosho River Amphitheater as the final performance of Washunga Days 2026.
