Authorities searching for escaped inmate

SALINA (KAKE) -- A 30-year-old Salina man who’s charged in two felony cases is still on the run as of June 15 after escaping from an inpatient treatment center in Winfield.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office says Leonard was being held at the local jail, but was transported to Preferred Family Healthcare in Winfield — an addiction treatment center — on May 14.

As part of the court-ordered treatment, deputies placed an ankle monitor on Leonard. About a month later, on June 11, investigators say that the device was removed, located near the highway and Leonard was gone. None of the Barron’s neighbors had heard about it either.

Leonard stands 6 feet tall, weighs about 260 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. It’s unclear what he was wearing. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
