Council Grove City Lake residents and visitors added to the Fourth of July celebration with holiday contests sponsored by the Council Grove Lake Community Association.
The association recognized winners in both the lakefront decorating contest and the regatta, with families using patriotic themes and creative displays to mark the holiday.
In the lakefront contest, the Haag family at K20 took first place. The Arnold family at C19 placed second, and the Benning family at C28 placed third.
The regatta also drew decorated entries. The Harmon family took first place with “America.” The Chadd family placed second with “Splish Splash,” and the Scott family placed third with “Leading Ladies.”
