The Council Grove Braves golf team closed its season Monday, May 18, at the Class 3A Regional Golf Meet held at Salina Municipal Golf Course.
Council Grove placed 10th as a team with a score of 419. Hesston won the regional title with a 296, followed by Nemaha Central with a 334 and Marysville with a 336. Hoisington placed fourth with a 346, Cheney was fifth with a 347 and Kingman finished sixth with a 367.
Brody Nelson led the Braves with a 94. Paul Bessmer followed with a 100, Parker Ziegenhirt shot a 101, Leo White finished with a 124, Jacob Talley shot a 129 and Evan Birk finished with a 133.
Other team scores included Southeast Saline, 381; Halstead, 386; Ellsworth, 401; Chaparral, 426; Lyons, 435; and Haven, 460.
The regional meet marked the final competition of the season for the Braves.
