The Council Grove Republican learned Tuesday that the Commodity Supplemental Food Program will not hold its monthly food distribution in June.
Local co-facilitator Rick Haug said it appears the State of Kansas is making changes to some aspects of the program. Program leaders expect to know more later this month.
CSFP provides a monthly food package to low-income residents, age 60 and older who live within the 53-county service area. Packages include food from 10 food groups, including cheese and shelf-stable milk.
The program serves seniors, benefit recipients and low-income residents through food delivery services.
