Dennis Downes

Dennis Downes, (left) formerly of Council Grove, is pictured with his friend Terry Dlugosh. They won the Rookie Division of the 2026 Hemmings Great Race in their 1968 Ford Pickup, which was not equipped with air conditioning. The race was 2300+ miles and took 9 days. (In an earlier article, before we received the photo, we reported the vehicle as being from 1956.)
