Dwight City Council

The Dwight City Council met for a regular meeting at the Dwight Public Library on May 19, 2026, at 7 p.m. Mayor Pam Goss opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Other council members present were Ashley Gearhart, Jamie Fetters, Adam Wiebe and John Traynor. Also Present: Ryan Taylor.

Visitor Comments: None. Additions to Agenda: None.

Minutes: Councilwoman Gearhart moved to accept the minutes as presented for the April 20th, 2026, regular meeting which was rescheduled. Councilwoman Fetters seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0. Councilwoman Fetters moved to accept the minutes as presented for the April 21st, 2026, rescheduled meeting. Councilman Traynor seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0.

Maintenance Manager Report: Manager Ryan Taylor provided a written report. A conference call was made with Mayer Specialties discussing the estimates for sewer line repairs and lift station repairs/ maintenance. Possible grants continued to be reviewed for updating the sewer infrastructure.

Water Manager Report: Manager Ryan Taylor provided a written report.

City Clerk Report: Clerk Ken Bergeron provided a written report and financials. Ken reported the delinquent accounts have all have made payments.

Review and Bills: Councilwoman Gearhart moved to approve the unpaid bills as presented with the addition of Mainstreet flower purchases. Councilwoman Fetters seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0 New Business: Ordinance violation letters to be sent.

Old Business: Mayor Goss continues working on the 2026 budget for Council based upon the past five years of income and expenditures. A Vacate Alley Ordinance is pending. Dog registrations continue with follow-up letters to be sent to those not yet registered per ordinance No. 200D. (Section 10-13).

Open Forum: Councilwoman Gearhart continues to work on getting a general knowledge class set up for CPR, etc. Mayor Goss read aloud a Thank you note from the Dwight Community Church.

Adjournment: Councilman Traynor moved to adjourn the regular meeting at 9:08 pm. Councilman Wiebe seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0.

The next regular council meeting was held on June 15, at the City Library.
