June blood donors will receive 2 free KC Royals tickets

The Morris County Hospital Auxiliary is once again preparing to host this year’s KC Royals Blood Drive, to be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, June 8, at the Council Grove Christian Church, 106 E. Main Street. Appointments are preferred but walk ins are welcome.

Everyone who signs in to donate at this blood drive will receive two tickets to a Royals home game this summer (game TBA).

The Community Blood Center (CBC) is the primary provider of blood and blood components to the 70+ hospitals and medical centers in the Kansas City region. Summer break is one of the most accident-prone times of the year, whether it involves cars, tractors, swimming pools, etc. Locals and vacationers, seniors and teens, and farmers and ranchers crowd the roads--the ongoing blood shortage has now been upgraded to a full-on emergency status.

In response, the Kansas City Royals will once again urge community- wide blood donation by giving two KC Royal home game tickets to everyone who shows up to donate.

Everyone interested should make an appointment by calling, texting, or emailing Candy Boardman (620767-2818 or boardman@tctelco. net) or visiting the CBC’s website savealifenow.org/group (enter Sponsor Code: TPOU). Donors will need to provide a photo ID at registration and drink plenty of water before donation. If there are medical eligibility questions, contact 1-800-6880900.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact 620-767-2818. If you want more information directly from the CBC, then please contact Mark Simonds at 888-647-4040 (CBC main number).
