Council Grove will offer three nights of live music July 9-11, with performances scheduled at four local venues.
The weekend begins Thursday, July 9, with nationally touring bluegrass group Mountain Highway performing at 6 p.m. at The Dealership Building. The band is known for traditional Appalachian bluegrass, harmonies and live performances.
On Friday, July 10, Kansas coun-try music artist Logan Mize will perform at 7 p.m. at the Morris County Youth Rodeo Association Arena. The concert is being held as part of the Youth Rodeo weekend.
Two performances are scheduled for Saturday, July 11. Rudy & The Lost Boys will perform at 7 p.m. at the Council Grove Marina. At 8 p.m., The Soul Preachers will perform at Riverbank Brewing, bringing a mix of soul, blues, funk and classic favorites.
“What makes this weekend so special is that it wasn’t coordinated by a single organizer,” said Zoey Wadick, Director of Marketing and Communications for the City of Council Grove. “Each venue planned its own event, and together they’ve created an incredible weekend that showcases both the talent visiting our community and the variety of experiences visitors can enjoy here.”
