Music, celebrations, community events and more

Neighbors far and wide are encouraged to mark their calendars now for a summer lineup of Chase County events planned in June and July.

Upcoming events include the River Suite Dinner and Music on the Bridge at 6 p.m. June 12; Late June Night Friday in Cottonwood Falls at 4 p.m. June 19; Friday Night Music featuring Prairie PastTimes Bluegrass at 7:30 p.m. June 19; the Flint Hills Rodeo Alumni Barbecue and Ice Cream Social at 6 p.m. June 26 in Swope Park; the alumni banquet at 6 p.m. June 27 at Chase County Junior/ Senior High School; the alumni social at 8 p.m. June 27 at the Doghouse Saloon; and the alumni golf tournament at 8 a.m. June 28.

The month will close with a countywide viewing of the Micro Full Moon at dusk June 29.

July events will begin with the America 250 Block Party Celebration from 5 to 7:30 p.m. July 3 in Cottonwood Falls. Friday Night Music featuring patriotic music will follow from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., with fireworks scheduled for 9:45 p.m. in Swope Park. The Chase County Fair is planned for July 24-30. Other July events include Day of the Cowboy at 6 p.m. July 25 at Pioneer Bluffs, featuring Past & Present, and Friday Night Music with Prairie PastTimes Western Music at 7:30 p.m. July 31.
