John Rogler has been selected as the new executive director of Pioneer Bluffs, the Center for Flint Hills Ranching Heritage.
“It feels like coming home,” he said.
Rogler brings extensive skills and experience to the position, in addition to having a unique connection. His ancestors homesteaded Pioneer Bluffs.
Lt. Colonel John Rogler is a 28year Air Force Fighter Pilot, with four combat deployments. He has widespread experience in business, sales, and management. Most recently, Rogler was an economist with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. He has a BS in Agricultural Economics Kansas State University, and MBA from Barry University.
“I understand duty/commitment/ service before self,” said Rogler, when asked why he was interested in this position. ““From a young age when I visited Pioneer Bluffs, I remember feeling part of something special and that this place needs to be preserved, not just because it’s my family, because it’s Flint Hills Ranching Heritage.”
Rogler will work with Lynn Smith, Director of Donor Relations. “It is an honor to have this opportunity to team up John,” said Smith. “John has an excellent business background, and just as important, he has great passion for this work. I’m excited to see how Pioneer Bluffs will grow.”
A National Register Historic District, Pioneer Bluffs is located 14 miles south of Cottonwood Falls or 1 mile north of Matfield Green on Flint Hills National Scenic Byway K-177.
