U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran told the Council Grove Republican last week that $13.75 million in federal funding is headed to Council Grove Lake.
The funding has not yet been announced publicly by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District. Gary Kepley, Deputy OPM-Kansas Area for the Corps, referred questions about the funding to the Corps’ Public Affairs Office and said he was not authorized to comment on funding details.
Moran said the money would help address long-needed maintenance needs at the lake. Additional information from the Corps’ Public Affairs Office will be reported when it becomes available.
