Friday, June 26th kicks off Alumni weekend with a BBQ and Ice Cream at Swope Park starting at 5 p.m. Wear RED & Black to the Senior Center on Friday the 26th to show off your Bulldog pride! Jene Burenheide will be taking blood pressures from 11 a.m. until noon (thanks Jene) and we will play BINGO after lunch. You won’t want to miss out on the fun. Monday, June 29th is our monthly Tongue Twister Day. Come in and show us your skills! We’ll pass out a Summer word scramble and have music by Kathleen Lane before lunch and Nancy Brock after lunch. Thanks ladies! Tuesday, June 30th is Pecan Sandies Day. Yum! We’ll pass out a Happy Birthday word scramble and celebrate our June birthdays with Wheel of Fortune. Make your reservations by 9:30 a.m. to join the fun. Wednesday, July 1st is Intl. Joke Day. Can you make us laugh? We’ll pass out a Happy 4th of July crossword puzzle before lunch and welcome the Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club after lunch. We’ll pass out a July word search before lunch on Thursday, July 2nd and if you can believe it, we are now ½ way through 2026. This year is speeding right on by. Don’t forget that the Senior Center will be closed on Friday, July 3rd. We wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July! If any of you would like any extra meals for the 3 day weekend, be sure to let us know.
To make your reservations for dine in, carryout, or delivery, please call 620-273-8511 any time BEFORE 9:30 a.m., or better yet, get on our regular meal list. Then you will only have to let us know if you are NOT going to eat.
VOLUNTEERING! Are you interested in volunteering? We are always looking for extra volunteers, and we have several ways that you can help! Our volunteers help in our kitchen, set tables, serve in the dining room and ride along with our drivers to deliver meals. You can be a regular volunteer on a schedule or if you’d like, we can call only when we need someone to fill in. Volunteers truly do keep our operation running smoothly, and our volunteers are incredibly special to us! We appreciate each one of you! Most volunteers come to the center around 10 a.m. and leave shortly after 1 p.m., AND we have a FUN TIME! It is around 3 hours each week, and you can let us know which day works best for you. OUT-MEALS! Please remember that you can always get out-meals! Meals are available to pick up or can be delivered within our meal delivery area. FROZEN MEALS! Frozen meals are also available to pick up or can be delivered within our meal delivery area. The frozen meals are fully cooked meals that have been frozen. You simply thaw them out, put them on a microwave plate and heat to temperature, or heat to temp in a conventional oven. These are incredibly good, and you can pick the ones you like the best!
