Cottonwood Falls will celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a block party on Friday, July 3, in front of the Chase County Courthouse. The celebration will be held on Broadway Street between Pearl and Friend streets.

June 8th EMS and deputy responded to Cottonwood Falls for a Fall, non transport; Deputy responded to Dollar General in Cottonwood Falls for a Commercial Alarm. Deputy was cleared as there were no signs of a break-in.

The Chase County Commission approved warrants totaling $132,226.77 and minutes from the June 8 meeting when commissioners met Monday, June 15, at the courthouse in Cottonwood Falls. Chairman Tony Hazleton opened the meeting, which included several budget discussions with county department heads and outside agencies as commissioners continue preparing for the next budget year.

By Jameson Lautt, Reporter The regular business meeting of the Morris County 4-H Council was held on April 14th, at 6:30pm at the Council Grove Fairgrounds. The meeting was called to order by President Haylee Nielsen followed by the council reciting the Pledge of Allegiance the 4-H pledge.
