SALINA (KAKE) -- A 30-year-old Salina man who’s charged in two felony cases is still on the run as of June 15 after escaping from an inpatient treatment center in Winfield. The Saline County Sheriff’s Office says Leonard was being held at the local jail, but was transported to Preferred Family Healthcare in Winfield — an addiction treatment center — on May 14.

A timely opportunity helped keep Adam Koci of Emporia working in stained glass. An RV, owned by Bill Rice, caught fire Monday, as it was parked at a home on South 4th, in Council Grove. Council Grove Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief and Public Information Officer Steve Crichton said the RV was being charged and readied for a weekend of camping and that initially the source of the fire appears to be electrical in nature. The RV is a total loss. An adjacent house, which is owned by Zachary Owen, is being remodeled and is vacant. It sustained significant damage from the heat of the fire.
