Fresh from the Hen House

“A cow just walked by my window” is not what you want to hear any morning, but especially on a morning when you have plans. The girls and I planned to hit some garage sales Saturday morning during the local citywide garage sales, and those had to be the first words I heard that morning. Thankfully, it ended up being a 4-H animal that had walked through the fence where a deer must have gone through it. My oldest approached her with a snack and a halter and had her back in in a jiffy while I got all the milking equipment put together for the morning milking. The girls and I left to go garage sale-ing while my husband left to go fix the fence.

Card of Thanks

As we pause to reflect on our Dad’s last couple of years, we are overwhelmed with gratitude and compelled to express our thanks for the incredible care he received through his health struggles. To Dr. Brett, Lisa Meyer, Kelly Hutchinson and all the staff at Morris County Hospital and Medical Clinic; the compassionate teams at both Diversicare and MoCo Assisted Living Facility; Jake Dugan and his crew at the Apothecary: words cannot express the appreciation we have for all the ways you advocated for and brought value to his final days. And to our community: for all the ways you have shown up – individually and collectively – for Tom and his family throughout his lifetime and ours, we consider ourselves so very blessed. ‘Thanks’ doesn’t seem like nearly enough, but please know it comes from the bottom of our hearts.
